New York Giants receiver Plaxico Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg while at a nightclub and spent the night in the hospital, according to multiple reports.
The firearm in question was neither legally owned or carried. NY does not recognize Florida permits. The Florida permit was expired. NYC registers gun owners and guns, neither of which was done. His domestic violence arrests and restraining orders also took his right to own a gun away under a federal law.
To the "gun control" (really people control) nuts, this was another illegal gun, your gun laws didn't work again (for about the millionth time) so don't try to add more.
Try him, find him guilty and JAIL HIM. Until there is actual punishment for gun law violations, especially to persons with a high public profile, no one will take them seriously. Don't add more laws, ENFORCE the ones we have.
People need to stick to the issue. He made a stupid mistake an he should pay for it. He is by no way a THUG. What does that mean? Having a gun does not make you a thug.
Hanging out in the Latin Quarters with a knot full of money and unregistered
Glock 9mm makes you thug.
Yeah we should have sent Dick Cheney to jail. Didnt he shoot his friend in the face? What happened to all you guys yelling "SEND THE THUG TO JAIL" on that one???? Enforce the laws right? Oh yeah, Cheney is a "Rich Thug with a good lawyer" right?????
So Burress decided that after he shot himself with a gun in a night club that he wasnt supposed to be carrying because it was illegal that he would then check into the hospital under an alias. Who would recognize him in New York, he isn't that big of a sports figure. This guy is now part of the group I like to call, the ridiculously stupid!
I saw a great video on this story on the show The Morning After Pill. It is a raw and uncensored sports talk show that can be found at moleandmeares dot com
If you get a chance check it out!
The hospital could have some legal troubles. They did not report the incident. All gunshot wounds are required to be reported to the police.
The nightclub also should have reported the incident. They did not.
Burress an adult?? Ha! What kind of an adult doesn't hold himself accountable for his actions, yet runs and hides and lies and jeopordizes the integrity of others that they may cover up an incident just to save his.....position? What position? What position does he take toward his neighborhood, or his community? I always thought men were defined by their actions. I guess this does not hold true for people in the spotlight because they always seem to use their fame, and often their fortune, to escape....not jail.....but responsibility!
Burress should be greatful. He should be greatful when remembering that a bullet rarely follows the intended path and could have landed in the head or chest of an innocent bystander. If that had happened this tune would be playing in a different key. We have enough issues in our communities without the added stupidities and indifference of people we expect a lot more from. If he wants to be a Blood, he should move to LA and try out for their team! I doubt he has the jewels to do it.
Send him to jail for 3 years. Let him and Vic sulk and share stories of how they were shafted by whomever for whatever reason. Maybe when their done with their group therapy they will catch a glimpse of their own reflections. Maybe Burress will realize that this was a good thing that happened. After all, you can't be going down a good path when you're in a nightclub with a firearm going off! Doesn't he see this?
If he's as egotistical as he appears....probably not.
Last time I checked, he has a constitutional right to carry a gun. This has, of course, been supressed by the city of New York, but it is right. This may be what has been needed to overturn this ignorant, unconstitutional law.
Just because you are the almighty New York City, you do not have the right to change the constitution!
The majority of reporting on athletes off the field is about the negative events they are involved in. Of course it's the same for the general public. How about regular reports about the athletes who are taking care of business in a responsible, mature manner; the charitable activities they take an interest in or are part of. Maybe those guys who want some attention would channel their energies into helping out more and being more responsible instead of acting ignorant, immature and selfish. Otherwise what the proven problem athletes need is a "buddy". Just a thought.

The NHLers do that all the time. They know that many of the kids coming up never had much money growing up and want to be sure that they do not set off on a path of self-destructive behavior. Sidney Crosby roomed with Mario Lemieux for his first season or two. Many of the rookies room together or live with veteran player.
Let him go and take PAC MAN with him and also Vick. Idiots all three.
Hmmm..he arrived at the night club at 1:40 AM. How much good happens at that hour of the night? What's wrong with going out to a movie and dinner and coming home at a decent hour? Is that only for boring people? In addition, if I need a gun for protection before I go someplace, I'm not going there. Period.
Didn't some other Giant get mugged outside of his suburban house in Jersey the week before?Do the math..Why don't they go on a witch hunt for someone that actually shot someone this is blown out of proportion..people get shot in NYC every week and this is what we get for news headlines?

Don't know. Why don't you find and seed the story?

Most of the folks getting shot in NYC are not millionaire, egomaniacal, star athletes. And, most of the gunshot wounds are not self-inflicted while in a nightclub.
